European Travels: Stratford-Upon-Avon, Iceland, Portraits, and more from August

Wow after looking through all the images this month it really doesn't seem so slow anymore!  I did two portrait sessions, got back into the automotive world, took a trip to Iceland that I have literally just now landed from, and went to London and Oxford more than a few times for some drinks between friends and fellow photographers!  Let's get this started!

As some of you may already have seen in a previous post I kicked off August in a rush to get back at some of my automotive work.  Attending my first UK meet with Cruize-Hertz; a wonderful community not far from me, and hitting the Silverstone Classic all in a few days!  The classic was amazing and sitting in the pits really was the highlight of it all!

I also was asked this month by one of our guys at the base to finish up some work for him.  It is always horrible to hear that a photographer has backed out of a task in the middle of it.  Apparently, the photographer thought it was ok to keep this guy waiting for months on end with no sign of a completed shoot.  After some approval from the original shooter and a falling out I was asked to see what I could do with the Jpgs and delivered these.  If you are an armature photographer reading this please take note, don't charge for shoots when you may not be able to deliver a finished product.  It tarnishes the art across the board and gives us all a bad rap, further contributing to all time low price points.

Speaking of amateur photographers, I went out on a photo walk to Wroxton Abbey with a local Instagramer Natt and had a pretty killer time, we ended up checking out Stratford-Upon-Avon, Bourton-on-the-water and some other stops around our local area.  Safe to say she is now shooting with her camera in manual!  Love teaching folks about photography and I even got some killer portrait and street work out of it all!

I also as per usual ended up in London, Cambridge, and Oxford pointing my camera at street artists, grabbing pints with friends, and meeting new people!  Managed to go punting for the first time with some Uni folks at Kings college and have started working with some local pubs and bars in Oxford to bring an article to the blog reviewing alot of my favorite spots in the area!

Finally to top the whole month off I went to Iceland!  It was a bit last minute as a good friend from Germany whom I met when I took my weekend trip in Taiwan contacted me and stated he would be going.  After some quick thought I decided to join him and got ahold of another photographer friend from Okinawa, Cody Thompson, and we all ended up going to shoot the sights in Iceland for 2 days!  It was absolutely incredible and I am still working on the edits and the post so look forward to that!  Here is a small preview of what we accomplished in our short trip, I can't wait to go back.  The top image was snapped in Háifoss, and the bottom is a combination of northern lights shots taken in the north near Ytri Tunga Beach, and the now famous Sólheimasandur DC-3 crash.
